May 1, 2025, Rock Hill, SC- Mocha Memoirs Press, a small publishing company in Rock Hill, welcomes renowned author, editor and librarian, Misty Massey. Misty has accepted the offer of Associate Publisher.
Mocha Memoirs Press’s mission is to amplify marginalized voices in speculative fiction (science fiction, fantasy, horror, paranormal). As the Associate Publisher, Misty will assist the publisher, Nicole Kurtz, in creating opportunities for more diverse stories, In addition, Misty brings her experience as a librarian, editor, and author to Mocha Memoirs ranks. Misty has an expansive background in fantasy works.
Misty Massey is the author of the Mad Kestrel series of rollicking fantasy adventures on the high seas, including Kestrel’s Dance, winner of the 2023 Palmetto Scribe Award For Best Novel. For the last ten years, she has freelanced as a copy and developmental editor for Mocha Memoirs Press. She was formerly the writing track director for ConCarolinas, and currently serves as the programming director for the SAGA Writing Conference.
